Barbados Tridents’ AB de Villiers smashed a game-best 82 off 54 balls to lead his team to a 25-run win over the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots 13 July in Caribbean Premier League play.

The Tridents move into second place in the CPLT20 standings with the win.

“It was a good result for us,” de Villiers said. “It’s nice for us to win games here at home. We really enjoy playing at the Kinsington Oval. We get some good support. It was my night tonight. I got a bit lucky here and there but never felt in one of those stretchy knocks and I had to really work hard for every run. But I’m pleased to be standing here and I’m pleased to have pulled it through for the boys.”

His stand came after Tridents openers Raymon Reifer and Steven Taylor were dismissed for a combined three runs and helped lead the Tridents to 180 for six in their 20 overs.
