A goat belonging to the Equestrian Centre on Linford Pierson road is missing and operators at the centre believe the animal was stolen.
Owner of the Equestrian Centre Mary Alberga said sometime Sunday night (24 July) the goat was taken from its pen after being tied up inside. She said the goat’s weight is between 150- 170 pounds and it belonged to the petting zoo at the centre for visiting children. Ms. Alberga said this is not the first time an incident like this has happened and she believes the goat might have alerted passers-by with crying noises.
“Now that it has happened again because last night they came in and they took out the biggest buck that we had away from its mother and two siblings and it’s a red boar and they just took him away. He had his collar on, they used his rope and they must have dragged him out of here which he must have gone out of here the whole way bawling because they hate to be separated from the herd,” Ms. Alberga said.
Ms. Alberga said the got was loose in the pen however the door was locked and chained.
