Ombudsman team working towards ‘one stop shop’

The team responsible for establishing Cayman’s ombudsman’s office said people who want to file a police complaint shouldn’t have to go to a police station to do so.

The ombudsman project team, now expanded to include police representatives, said the ombudsman’s office will be a “one stop shop” for FOI requests, government administration complaints, and police complaints.

As each of these require different training and skill sets, FOI and complaints will still be handled by specialist staff in each area.

The project team is still in the fact-finding stage.
