Sarwan wins claim against WICB

Former West Indies batsman Ramnaresh Sarwan won a claim the West Indies Cricket Board for more than US $161,000.

The suit stems from a 2010 incident where the WICB questioned his fitness and attitude after he missed a series of matches.

Sarwan was injured at the time — playing through the injury at times — and says he did not receive specific instructions after reaching out the WICB for clarification regarding a letter he received asking him to change his attitude.

The ruling accepted Sarwan’s claim of having suffered loss and damage because the WICB was not transparent and had committed various breaches of their memorandum of understanding with the player.
