The Department of Tourism said preventative measures are the key to managing Zika’s impact on Cayman’s tourism product.

The DOT told Cayman 27 in a press statement that it is in active contact with public health officials and other relevant agencies, making sure it can provide the education and prevention information to the tourism sector to safeguard the well-being of residents and visitors.

It said it’s committed to fighting any negative impact on travel to the islands resulting from the Zika virus.
