Another competition centered on young local filmmakers and a home-grown internet sensation named Ethan Spencer won the Young Image Makers Award for his age group.
The nine-year-old made a stop-motion film using LEGOs about a velociraptor that becomes a T-Rex.
Ethan and his siblings star on the YouTube channel, “Quad-Squad,” a video series that highlights family fun.
And he was looking forward to the celebrity meetings that would come with this award.
“I think that will give a brighter light to my future, so I think I’m going to like meeting them and I’ve already met a few at the young image makers festival where I received my award and they seemed pretty nice,” said Ethan Spencer, from QuadSquad.
In all, there were 16 different competition categories for filmmakers.
In the local 48-hour filmmaking contest, winner Brittany Kelly qualified to compete in a similar contest next year in the US, with a chance to be screened at the Cannes film festival as well.
