Bodden town MLA Alva Suckoo said endorsements from his colleagues in the legislative assembly are nice, but he says he wants to earn your vote on his own merits.

In a social media post. Mr. Suckoo said he’s grateful for the confidence in him and fellow independent MLA Winston Connolly recently expressed by Opposition Leader Mckeeva Bush, but he said voters should consider a candidate who will give his or her best effort for the Caymanian people.

“I myself strongly urge you to not vote for me if the only reason you can find is a strong endorsement. Listen to my position on the issues and my plans for the country before you decide who to vote for,” said Mr. Suckoo. “I am not being ungrateful and I feel humbled by Mr. Bush’s words, but I do want to EARN the privilege of being your representative for a second term.”

He said he plans to work harder than ever to deliver the kind of representation his constituents deserve.
