West Indies and India bowl off in a pair of Twenty20 matches this weekend in Florida where West Indies’ Carlos Brathwaite is set to make his debut as the Caribbean side’s T20 Captain.
The matches will be played 27 and 28 August at Central Broward Stadium in Lauderhill, Florida.
“Taking a job of this magnitude you never know if you’re ready until you actually start,” Brathwaite told media members at a 26 August press conference. “What I can say is that I am excited to start. It is an honour. In these past couple of months, or past 12 months or so, I’ve realised a few dreams — winning a World Cup, making a Test debut and now captaining the West Indies. It’s a new challenge and it’s just for me to go out there and take the bull by the horn.”
Darren Sammy was the team’s previous T20 Captain.
