Cayman Airways Ltd. has released the following advisory as a result of the Tropical Storm Watch issued for the Cayman Islands:
Due to the projected path of a strong tropical wave approaching the Cayman area, Cayman Airways customers who have purchased tickets to travel August 1 or 2, 2016 between Grand Cayman and Miami, Tampa, Kingston, Havana, or the Sister Islands, may change their reservations without penalty.
This change-fee-waiver is allowed only once, must be within the validity period of the ticket purchased, and passengers must rebook their flights by August 15, 2016. Any fare difference will apply. Refunds are not allowed on non-refundable tickets.
Also as a result of the approaching tropical wave, Cayman Airways has cancelled Jamaica extra sections KX2606 and KX2607 scheduled for the evening of August 1, 2016. These flights have been rescheduled for August 2, 2016 with KX2606 departing Grand Cayman at 6pm, arriving in Kingston at 7pm, and KX2607 departing Kingston at 7:55pm, arriving on Grand Cayman at 8:55pm.
Cayman Airways Express has also cancelled KX4510 scheduled to depart Cayman Brac for Grand Cayman at 7am August 2, 2016.
All other flights are expected to operate as scheduled, but Cayman Airways is continuing to monitor the development and path of this tropical wave, and will advise the travelling public if flight schedule changes become necessary.
