The leaders of three public service agencies will have plenty of new applicants to choose from, after a large turnout this afternoon for a job fair.
When the doors of the town hall in george town opened at three o’clock, plenty of people were already in line, with more than a-hundred showing up in the first hour. To find out the requirements needed to work for the police, fire or prison services.
Representatives from each department were on-hand to ask questions from any potential recruit or employee.
“If two hundred apply and they get a hundred out of it, it will show other caymanians that atleast they are showing interest in caymanians, that youth who come out here to look for a job and a hundred of them got hired, that the other hundred would come somewhere else and see if they will get hired as well.” Said Job seeker, David Watler
This is the first time that the three service agencies came under one roof to promote their employment opportunities. Together they have nearly three- dozen positions they could fill.
