It’s the longest-running event for the Cayman Catboat Club, the 12th Annual David Foster Memorial Race took place on Sunday.
Four Catboat veterans, sailed across the North Sound to a finish at the Foster’s residence in North Side. President of the Catboat Club, Jerris Miller, said that the David Foster Memorial Race is the longest running event (16 years) for the Catboat Club, having been run every year since 1998 when it was known was the David Foster Race, the name was changed in 2005, upon his passing, to the David Foster Memorial Race.
It was a close battle, with Crosby Ebanks in boat “Going Ahead”, edging out Kem Jackson in “Captain D” for a first place win. Catboat Club President Jerris Miller in “Dignity” took third place while Rommel Ebanks in “Brac Cat” took fourth.
The next race for the Catboat Club will be the Premiers Cup on October 23rd.
