Cayman company progresses on Mexican project

Cayman Islands-based Consolidated Water has cleared the next hurdle in its six-year quest to build and operate a desalination plant in northwest Mexico capable of providing 50 million gallons of drinking water per day.

A Consolidated Water subsidiary in the Mexican state of Baja signed agreements last week along with partner firms from Singapore and France that pave the way for construction of a $490 million (USD) project slated for completion in 2019.
