International literacy day may be tomorrow, but that is not the only major date this month that is significant to reading.
World renowned children’s book author Roald Dahl turns 100 on the thirteenth of September.
At the George Town library, more copies of Roald Dahl’s books are being ordered to maintain the demand of kids fascinated by his books as two-thirds of its stock are always checked out.
“Because the books are written through the childs eyes, there are wonderful heroes and heroines and the child always triumphs in the end, and so the books are really facinating for that reason and thats probably one of the reasons why we can’t keep them on the shelves longer than we do,” said Director of Cayman Islands Public Library Service, Ramona Melody.
Roald Dahl has published 48 books and 12 of these books have been turned into movies.
