The former head of the Olympic council of Ireland has been charged. Pat Hickey and Irish businessman Kevin Mallon arrive at a police station in Brazil over their alleged role in the OCI ticketing scandal in Rio de Janerio last month.
Hickey, who temporarily stepped aside as head of the OCI and Mallon, a director of THG, which specializes in corporate and sports hospitality, were both arrested as part of an investigation into the alleged illegal sale of Rio Olympics tickets. The charge sheet includes the supply of tickets for the purpose of selling, false advertising and fraud.
Both men have denied any wrongdoing.
A judge in Rio will now review the charges before deciding whether or not to proceed with the case.
