October is Bullying Prevention Awareness month  and the Hurley’s Media family is teaming up with the Family Resource Centre in its Stand up to bullying campaign next month.

Hurley’s Media Operations manager Jason Howard says education is key to combating the problem.

“Kids these days are growing up in a whole new world with cyber bullying, even now adults with at work bullying. It’s definitely a dilemma that touches all of us and if we can help lead the charge against stopping it, if good for the island and it’s good for everyone,” Mr Howard said.

Earlier this year the Law Reform Commission issued a paper seeking public comment on whether bullying needs legislation, policy or both. A formal report on that paper is pending.
