This year’s International Peace Day was celebrated worldwide, including right here.

Today (Sep 21) workers from the Family Resource Centre (FRC) stepped up their presence with an event that included a moment of silence on the Government Administration Building steps at the strike of noon.

They were joined by members of the cabinet in an effort to promote peace not just between nations, but right here in Cayman.

Programmes Coordinator at the Family Resource Centre Charmaine Miller said the FRC is using the Peace Day celebrations to recognise victims of violence.

“Putting our differences aside and honoring and joining together to honor those victims who have suffered because of violence and those who are experiencing the aftermath of that violence so it’s really wonderful to have the support of our government in this,” Ms. Miller said.
