Students from gathered up all their goodies in the hopes that students 10 years from now will have a look at 2016.
Cayman International School (C.I.S) students and staff recently dug-up a time capsule that was buried a decade ago holding memories of writings, pictures and other items of the time.
Today another capsule was buried.
This memory collection is called the C.I.S 2016 time capsule where the burial of another treasure chest is set to be open in the year 2026.
Vice Principal Nimmi (neemi) Sekhar (seck-har) said watching the looks on students faces is priceless.
“Kids who were in second grade at that time are now 12th graders so it was really fun to watch their excitement to see what they wrote and what they thought they would be 10 years from now what they would be, where they would be so it was very interesting to see them read some of the things they wrote,” Mrs. Sekhar said.
The Vice Principal said she hopes in another decade, teachers currently at the school will still be around when the 20-inch hole is dug up again to recollect this year’s memories.
