A lot of people here and elsewhere love pirates week this year’s organisers have worked that emotion into their theme “The age of romance.”

Deputy Premier Moses KirkConnell said he is confident about November as the tourism season also begins with a major resort opening its doors.

“We believe November is going to be extremely good for the Cayman Islands because not only did we have the start of the season as Councillor Hew said but also we have Kimpton coming on line and we have the other properties focusing on the downtown when pirates week is going on. So we’re very pleased with the progress so far and very confident it will be a good November,” Mr. KirkConnell said.

Executive Director Melanie McField said district committees and cultural groups will work together on various district events such as each district presenting their own dishes and historical value as in previous years.

Hurley’s Media, was named the official media sponsor for pirates week 2016.
