World Cup clock unveiled

Russia’s southern city of Sochi unveiled a World Cup clock on Saturday (September 17) counting down to the official start of the championship in 2018.

The digital clock was installed in a stand decked out in the World Cup 2018 colours. Spectators took the opportunity to take selfies with the clock and post their pictures online. At the unveiling ceremony Russian soccer player, Dmitry Bulykin, expressed high hopes for the national team in the upcoming contest.

The World Cup 2018 games will be held between June 14 and July 15 at 12 different Russian stadiums. The tournament will see 12 stadiums being used in 11 cities.

The next set of CONCACAF World Cup qualifying matches, round 5 will begin on November 11.
