Hong Kong coach Gareth Baber to coach Fiji sevens

Hong Kong Sevens Coach Gareth Baber has been appointed the new Head Coach of the Olympic Champion the Fiji Sevens Team.

Baber was the men’s sevens coach and head coach of the elite rugby sevens program at the Hong Kong Sports Institute in 2013 will assume his new post early next year.

Baber has been appointed on an initial four-year contract with Fiji which will take the reigning Olympic Champions through to the next summer games in Japan in 2020.

He leaves the union in a strong position, with the men’s seven coming within ten minutes of a place at the 2016 Rio Games having won their third Asian Sevens title in five years earlier this month.

She graduated with honors in Broadcast Journalism from the University of South Florida
