A man who hit and killed a pedestrian last year will serve the next 2 years in prison.  Donovan Kellyman was sentenced in Grand Court this afternoon (October 13th) for killing 46-year-old Marsha Donaldson as she walked along South Sound road in the early hours of April 25th 2015.  Kellyman pleaded guilty earlier this year to counts of death careless driving and driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and causing death.

Ms. Donaldson’s death sparked outrage in the community sparking calls for change on Cayman’s roads.  Justice Michael Wood called the incident a tragedy and told Mr. Kellyman that he has only himself to blame.  He noted that he took Mr. Kellyman’s guilty plea into account when calculating the sentence.
