Independent MLA Ezzard Miller says he knows his recent committee resignation and those of his fellow committee members will not stop the Office of Ombudsman train.
He says stepping down from the Complaints Commissioner’s Oversight Committee was necessary to show his committee’s objection to the project.
On Wednesday Mr Miller, who chaired the committee, resigned along with West Bay MLAs Bernie Bush and Captain Eugene Ebanks and Bodden Town MLA Alva Suckoo.
However having resigned he said a new committee is needed to ensure financial continuity at the Complaints office.
“I do not know who is going to sign September, I mean October, November, December invoices so the Parliament, should while it is sitting now select a new committee,” Mr Miller said.
Government Councillor Roy McTaggart remains the lone remaining member of the committee.
