The Legal Practitioners Bill may be heading to the House next week, but before it gets there, lawyers and members of the public will have an opportunity tomorrow (Thursday 13 October) to suggest improvements before it gets to the top of the LA’s to-do list.
Financial Services minister Hon Wayne Panton will lead a panel discussion on the bill… together with Caymanian Bar Association… the Law Society… and executives.
He says the discussion is designed to clear up any misinformation, but also to take suggestions, if any, for adjustments before the bill is tabled.
“I am perfectly happy to consider any proposals that might make the bill better. I think we have waited for fifteen years to get this bill done and we have progressed this to a point now, which is further than any administration has managed to do it,” Mr Panton says.
That public meeting will be held at the Family Life Centre starting at 6.30 tomorrow evening.
