The Save Our Youth foundation’s (SOY) second annual monster run took off over the weekend.

The race was comprised of a loop through Camana Bay and the Cayman International School while all proceeds from the event will help to fund SOY programmes, including school SOY clubs, which offer forums for students to discuss issues affecting them and suggest possible solutions to school administrators.

The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman has been involved with the monster dash by partnering with Save Our Youth and SOY President Iris Stoner said the event supports healthy living amongst the young.

“Promoting young people to stay on positive paths and to just keep improving and then eventually the hope is they’ll be positive contributing members of society and give back.” Mrs. Stoner said

The monster run idea was derived from Ritz Carlton Managing Director of Human Resources Janette Goodman who says she got the idea while visiting the city of Boston.
