A mother of three and grandmother of one was killed in an early morning car crash in North Side Friday (October 21).
43-year old Heather Moffitt- Gibson was the driver and only occupant of the land rover that went off Rum Point Road.
Heather Moffitt-Gibson of North Side was taken to Cayman Islands Hospital by ambulance where she was pronounced dead.
Police and emergency services responded to the single-vehicle accident on Rum Point Road at 3AM Friday. Her husband Bobby Gibson posted on Facebook.
“It is with heart-felt regret that I am informing friends and family of the tragic passing of Heather Moffitt-Gibson, my wife and mother of my children and grandchild. She was involved in a car accident early this morning. As a family, we are mourning her passing for she will be greatly missed. She was a great mother to our children Papie, Dylan and our baby girl Hannah and even better Grandmother to our Grandson Jaxon.”
Friends and family immediately started sharing messages of love and support to the family.
Mrs. Moffitt-Gibson has a long family history in Grand Cayman dating back to the 1980’s.
Mrs. Moffitt-Gibson was the only driver involved in the crash.
Police are asking anyone who might have information that can help with their investigation to call the traffic management unit, on 649-6254.
