Monday’s (28 November) fatal shooting in broad daylight has left the country shaken, wondering how and when the next reprisal will take place.

Damean Dwayne Seymour, known to many as “Deebo” was gunned down shortly before midday at the intersection of Martin Drive and Tigris Street in George Town. The 34-year-old’s killing is Cayman’s second murder for 2016, the first being that of Justin Manderson, 24. Mr Manderson was also gunned down on 1 October at West Bay Road.

Deputy Police Commissioner Kurt Walton sat down with Tammi Sulliman to address the community’s concerns and highlight the police’s current plan to crackdown on guns and gangs in Cayman.

However the Deputy top Cop stopped short of calling this latest killing gang related, but he has appealed for peace, assuring that the RCIPS will continue to step up its efforts to keep the public safe.
