Hew medals at Florida 1A State Championships

Lauren Hew wins silver and bronze in first her year at the Florida 1A State Championships at Saint Andrews High School in Boca Raton, Florida.

Hew helped the girls team to finish fifth overall with her performances in the 100-yard freestyle, 100-yard backstroke and 200-yard freestyle relay. She won medals in the 100- yard backstroke swimming in 55.29 seconds in the final to win the bronze.
Hew picked up her second medal in the 200-yard freestyle relay which is she led the team in the first leg earning a second place finish.

Hew’s performances were strong enough in all three of her events to earn the All-American status from the Florida high school.

Jade was one of 35 Young Reporters selected worldwide to be apart of the Young Reporters Programme by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) at the Second Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China. Jade was also selected as a Young Reporter in 2015 to cover the Toronto Pan American Games, where she was awarded a Hockey Stick for her hard-work and dedication. Jade was the Press Officer for the Cayman Islands Olympic Committee at the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janerio, Brazil. She graduated with honors in Broadcast Journalism from the University of South Florida
