After her recovery from Guillain–Barré syndrome (GBS) Sislyn Ebanks is slowly putting back the pieces of her memory together after being bed-ridden for one year with the nerve and muscle illness.

Her daughter Cassandra Ebanks said the intensity of the illness affected all her mother’s movement including her eye-sight.

“She had the most severe case of Guillain–Barré syndrome she couldn’t open her eyes or anything, we know she could hear,” Ms. Ebanks said.
