Theft arrest after suspect caught prowling in carpark

A man is arrested for theft Tuesday (1 November) morning, after police say they saw him appearing to break into cars in a parking lot.

Police responded to a call and searched the car park of a residential area off Coemer Drive in George Town.
They found a man, aged 40 from George Town), near the rear of the property. After gathering evidence, they arrested him on suspicion of theft and criminal trespass.
He remains in custody.

Police are reminding you to keep your vehicles locked and remove any valuables from inside.
