Ironwood Development leaders say they’re moving forward with the planned 600-acre, US $1.1 billion development in Frank Sound. They expect to break ground next month, according to a spokesperson for the developers.
The announcement comes seven weeks after the developers said funding for the project could be jeopardised if the December deadline to sign off on the 10-mile road extension for the East-West Arterial was missed.
The National Conservation Council in October said an Environmental Impact Assessment was needed before the road could be built.
Cayman 27 reached out to a spokesperson for the developers as well as Planning Ministry Chief Officer Alan Jones for any updates on the road project. No response was received by air time.
