This past weekend, the selection process began for both Cayman’s men’s and women’s National Beach Volleyball teams. Cayman will be fielding two teams per gender, with 6 women playing for 3 spots, as a player currently abroad has been guaranteed a spot in advance. For the women, returning from previous years teams were Taylor Burrows, Stefani Gandolfi and 19-year old Caymanian Ileann Powery. Powery is currently nursing an injury, but she says participation is the biggest concern for the program at the grassroots level and hopes for the best come April.
