A 28-year-old woman dies after a vehicle collides with a tree, according to an RCIPS press release.
The incident happened just after 2 a.m. Thursday (15 February) on Farm Road, in East End. The road is now reopen after it was closed for police to carry out their investigations.
Two people were in the vehicle — a Subaru — when it hit the tree. Both occupants — a man and a woman — were taken to the Cayman Islands hospital. The woman was pronounced dead. Police initially said the man remained in hospital in critical condition but now say he’s in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.
It marks the first fatality on Cayman’s roads in 2018.
Police ask anyone with information to call the Traffic and Roads Policing Unit at 649-6254.
