The Port Authority board admonished Port Director Clement Reid for actions revealed in the Office of the Auditor General’s report, but stopped short of his dismissal.

In a three page letter dated February 21st, the board advised Mr. Reid his ‘gross misconduct’ would justify his dismissal under contract terms. Ultimately, the board took what it termed a “less draconian” approach, taking into account Mr. Reid’s long tenure with the port and his readiness to acknowledge his mistakes.
While Mr. Reid will be given a chance to clean up the mess, the board says any further misconduct could result in termination.
