Disaster prep begins: Governor’s Beach closed on 31 May

If you were planning a beach day for Governor’s Beach on Thursday (31 May) you may want to look for another seaside site to lounge on.

That’s because the popular beach site will be turned into a training ground for the annual hurricane and disaster preparedness exercise with the UK’s Royal Fleet Auxiliary RFA Mounts Bay. The vessel returns to Cayman for its training exercise Thursday (31 May.)

To facilitate this exercise a portion of the beach and the parking area itself will be closed on Thursday from 8 a.m. until Friday (June 1) afternoon.
