Duval nets four as Future heads to President’s Cup finals

Courtney Duval’s four-goal performance helped Future SC defeat Elite SC 4-3 in Sunday’s (21 May) leg two semifinal to book their spot in the Cayman Islands Football Association (CIFA) 2018 President’s Cup.

“Everything was on the line with the second leg. First leg we drew 0-0, so we knew we had to come here and scores some goals. We missed some chances in the first leg and we had to make that right today” said captain Michael Johnson.

Duval opened the score in the 20th minute, following with his second in the 39th. Elite’s Christopher Reeves netted his first of two in the 40th minute. Duval’s third goal in the 58th minute brought the score to 3-2 Future, but James Ebanks’ goal in the 62nd minute tied it at 3-3.

That’s when Duval’s 4th in the 77th minute gave Future the lead for good.

In the second semifinal, Academy and Scholars drew 1-1, giving Academy the win on aggregate 5-3. Academy’s Romario Dixon and Scholars’ Roly Bodden netted the goals for their clubs.

The President’s Cup final goes Saturday 26 May at the Ed Bush Playing Field starting at 7:30 pm.
