Six guns and hundreds of rounds of ammunition have been handed in the first week of the RCIPS gun amnesty.
The figures were shared in an update from police today (8 June.)
They say from 1 June to 8 June 2 handguns and 4 rifles were handed over to police along with over 290 rounds of ammunition.
Deputy Commissioner Kurt Walton said he is pleased with the response from the public. He added, “We encourage others to follow this example and help us make our community that much more safe.”
The amnesty continues for the next three weeks.
