Special Olympics kicks off ‘Awareness Week’ with Kirkland Nixon Fire Truck Pull

The road to the 2019 World Summer Games in Abu Dhabi has begun and Special Olympics Cayman Islands (SOCI) kicked off it’s ‘Awareness Week’ Saturday (2 June) with the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) Kirkland Nixon Memorial Fire Truck Pull.

The event, which raised $1,300 for SOCI, saw RCIPS, Fire Services, Customs, Immigration and Prison Services participate in this 37th year.

Monday’s (4 June) ‘Torch Run’ saw law enforcement and Special Olympics athletes kick off the week’s events at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex with track and field.
