CPR Cayman keeping mum on number of signatures collected

The grassroots group behind the effort to trigger a people-initiated referendum on the controversial cruise berthing project won’t say how many signatures it has collected thus far.

A Cruise Port Referendum Cayman representative told Cayman 27 the group is keeping its numbers close to its chest for now, citing a number of unspecified reasons.

Our last update came a few weeks ago, when CPR Cayman said it had surpassed three quarters of its target.

The group would need to collect close to 5,300 signatures to force a yes or no vote on the project.
