Cull 2018/19: RCIPS granting special air rifle licenses

The RCIPS is granting special licenses for registered green iguana cull participants seeking to use air rifles for culling.
Police said these special licenses will provide an exemption from a section of the Firearms Law that will allow registered cullers to use an air rifle for culling within 40 yards of a public road.
The special license only applies to 22 and 25 caliber air rifles.
Cullers who plan to use an air rifle for culling must apply for the special license whether or not they already have a firearms license.
Special license applications can be delivered to the Security and Firearms Licensing Unit on Walker’s Road.
Police expect a two week turnaround time.
