E-government stresses interoperability in future plans

E-government director Ian Tibbetts told Cayman 27 inter-operability is at the heart of delivering future online services.

Mr. Tibbetts said the variety of e-services already available get much of the attention, but much of e-government’s focus has been on developing the underlying infrastructure that allows for the secure sharing of information.

“That is ready, the identity and access management piece of it that we talked about that kind of backs up that simplified secure access, the procurement for that is in the very final stages,” said Mr. Tibbetts.

He said a recommendation will be submitted by this week, and in a few months he says an identity management piece should then be in place…
