Edna Moyle Primary School AstroTurf installed

The long-awaited upgrade to the playfield at Edna Moyle Primary School has commenced. The AstroTurf has been installed at the school and many of the students at the school said they are grateful the work is being done to improve their playfield.

The AstroTurf has been installed at the Edna Moyle Primary School, but Opposition Leader and North Side MLA Hon. Ezzard Miller said there’s more work to be done on the playfield.

“We got the AstroTurf all laid out on the field. We have to join it up because we had to cut it up in order to transport it and the government will put down the four-lane track on the around it on the weekend on the 12 of November so by the 15th to the 16th everything will be done,” said Mr. Miller.

Edna Moyle student Mia McLean said the new addition has helped her move on the field.

“It’s very soft so we could run faster,” said Ms. McLean.

Schoolmate Zyron Frederick said seeing the new improvements are a dream come through.

“The new field I wanted it to happen a long time ago since I came to the school cause the first time I fell down it felt like rocks were drilling into my feet,” said Mr. Frederick.

As for student Simon Hansson, activities are much fun when playing on the new turf.

“Especially the goalkeepers, when they go in the goal they can now dive but on the other field if you dived, you would get cut and I hated that because people got cut too much and they got really badly hurt,” said Mr. Hansson.

A point shared by schoolmate Marie Rivers.

“When you walk on this one you don’t trip up because there are not many rocks and I like it,” said Ms. Rivers.

Even though the field is still a work in progress the kids said they feel much safer playing and that’s a thumbs up from them. The entire project is expected to be completed by the middle of next month.
