Governor’s first impression of Seven Mile Beach

The Governor strayed off script in his swearing-in address before the Legislative Assembly to wax lyrical about one of Cayman’s biggest draws: Seven Mile Beach.

Earlier on in the ceremony, Deputy Governor Franz Manderson commented on Mr. Roper’s reaction when he saw the view of Seven Mile Beach from Government House.

“I will shortly visit the sister islands of Cayman Brac and Little Cayman,” Mr. Roper responded, adding: “I think the image I saw when I walked into the house this morning will live with Lissie and I for the rest of our lives.”

It was the only time during the speech that the Governor ad-libbed and strayed from his prepared remarks.
