Nine Cuban migrants are currently being interviewed by Immigration enforcement officers.
They are seeking asylum in Cayman.
The eight men and one woman were among 27 Cubans aboard a vessel that arrived in Cayman Brac on Saturday (10 November.)
According to Government Information Services of the 22 males and five females, a total of nine persons requested to remain behind.
The vessel has since departed the bigger sister island. It is continuing to its final destination, which was not released.
No damage was done to the vessel when it arrived in Cayman Brac.
