Basketball: Knights, Thrashers roll in Week Five Under-19 action

Jathan Barnes stuffed the stat sheet with 38 points, 25 rebounds and 14 steals as the Knights rolled over the Clifton Hunter High School All-Stars 108-39 Saturday (11 November) in Week Five of the Cayman Islands Basketball Association (CIBA) Under-19 league.

“We are pushing the floor, getting back on defense. We are just staying focused, not getting sidetracked, picking up on defense and forcing on offense.”

Knights John Smith (19 points, 12 rebounds, 9 assists) and Marcus Fletcher (23 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists, 5 steals) both pitched in with double-doubles.

In the second game of the day, the Thrashers defeated the CI Hoopsters 60-26, while the Knights topped the Clifton Hunter High School All-Stars 108-39. Micah O’Garro led the way with 18 points, 10 rebounds,while Leon Harris netted a double-double with 13 points and 16 rebounds.

“We will need to focus, get players open, and don’t miss open shots,” said Noel Squire.
