Deputy Governor vows to act on OAG recommendations with “sense of urgency”

Deputy Governor Hon. Franz Manderson vowed quick action on Wednesday (7 November) from the Civil Service to address Auditor General Sue Winspear’s concerns.

Ms. Winspear flagged the slow progress of implementing recommendations from the Public Accounts Committee.

Her concerns were raised in a report by the Office of the Auditor General which particularly singled out the social welfare programme’s changes as not having been implemented quickly enough.

Mr. Manderson told Cayman 27 that he takes the work of the Auditor General “extremely seriously” and going forward he ensures that all agreed recommendations will be progressed with a sense of urgency.
