DPP appointed to Grand Court

Director of Public Prosecutions Cheryll Richards Q.C. is Cayman’s newest Grand Court judge.
On Thursday (22 November) the Judicial and Legal Services Commission (JLSC) announced her appointment to the judicial bench.
Ms. Richards was selected after an open recruitment process.
Chief Justice Anthony Smellie has assured that cases Ms. Richards has indicted will not go before her court.
Ms. Richards appointment takes effect from 1 December.

In the interim deputy Director of Public Prosecutions, Patrick Moran will serve as acting director until a replacement is recruited.
