Sunrise Centre clients prepare to set sail for Pirates Week

Pirates Week is here, and the Sunrise Adult Training Centre is getting involved for its 4th year, and this time it’s bigger and better.

Sunrise staff and its partners put the finishing touches on the HMS Conch Pearl in advance of Saturday’s Pirates Week cardboard regatta.

Not only is it the Sunrise Centre’s entry in the cardboard regatta, the vessel will also be a part of its parade presence.

While the event is a lot of fun for Sunrise Centre clients, director Kim Voaden told Cayman 27 their safety is priority number one.

“Special modifications have been made to the vessel,” she said. “We will have a client in a wheelchair as the captain of the HMS Conch Pearl, so we had to make sure the wheelchair could securely be tied down,” said Ms. Voaden.

At the helm of the HMS Conch Pearl for at least part of the Pirates Week festivities will be Captain Jule Frazier.
