Special Olympics Cayman Islands (SOCI) Bocce Coach Nicole Thompson has been selected to officiate at the Special Olympics World Games in Abu Dhabi starting 14th March.
This will be Thompson’s fourth World Games, most recently coaching at the World Games in Los Angeles in 2015, as well as the Caribbean and Latin American Games.
In a press release, Thompson said “I am happy and honoured to be selected as one of the 16 International Technical Officials for the Games and one of only 2 officials from the Caribbean.”
Bocce is one of the most popular sports at World Games with more than 1,000 matches expected to be played over 7 days.
Special Olympics Cayman Islands is set to announce it’s team for games this weekend.
