Cayman’s UK representative Eric Bush and Head of the UK National Crime Agency (NCA) Donald Toon held high-level discussions in London on Wednesday (7 November.)
The discussions follow an agreement between Cayman and the UK to resume working together on exchanging tax information.
An initial agreement between Cayman and the UK was put on hold by Premier Hon. Alden McLaughlin after the UK Parliament voted to impose public beneficial ownership registries on Overseas Territories.
Later Mr. Toon had complained that his agency was being frustrated by Cayman’s lack of cooperation.
However, that issue has since been resolved.
Mr. Bush said Wednesday’s discussion with Mr. Toon was about the long-standing and good relationship between the NCA and Cayman.
He said in a tweet, the meeting was “positive and productive.”
