Prison Service fire probe ends

Prison officials have completed their investigation into a fire that was lit inside a prison cell by a prisoner last month.
On Friday (30 November) a government official confirmed that the Prison Service’s report is now with the Home Affairs ministry.

The fire happened back on 11 October.
An unnamed inmate lit a small fire within his cell.

The fire was extinguished by prison staff. The prisoner was treated for smoke inhalation.
Details on the Prison Service findings have not been released, but Cayman 27 will continue to follow this story.
